Pioneer Club
New Student Orientation
A Summer Experience for Fall Success
New Student Orientation is a four-week summer experience designed intentionally and specifically for students starting their first year at EHS in September.
Pioneer Club students will take a full complement of summer academic classes and enrichment courses with their future teachers, while receiving essential insights into dorm life at EHS to ensure a smooth transition in the fall. Additionally, our Student Life administrators plan orientation-only social activities that provide plenty of opportunities to make new friends with fellow Pioneer Club students and begin forming lifelong connections.
The benefit of the Pioneer Club for new students is immeasurable, and students who have taken advantage of an Eagle Hill summer prior to beginning in the fall tell us time and again what a confidence-boosting and affirming experience it was for them. Students make friends and get to know the faculty and campus well, allowing for a seamless fall at Eagle Hill.
Divided into eight periods, the daily schedule features a combination of academic classes, enrichment courses, and swimming. Core classes concentrate on the subjects of reading, writing, and math, with an emphasis placed on the greatest area of need for each individual student. Students can also take advantage of our Social Emotional Wellbeing course, which is designed to enhance social skills and strengthen peer relationships.
Eagle Hill places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention. With a 6:1 student-to-faculty ratio, our students receive focused support, maximizing both engagement and productivity. Our Eagle Hill teachers understand each student’s unique needs and apply proven methods to support their success both in and out of the classroom.
Enrichment courses are designed to be fun and engaging for students, offering opportunities to explore a variety of interests, including the arts, world languages, and topics in math and science. Daily swimming adds an enjoyable element to our curriculum.
