Frequently Asked Questions

Every summer varies! On average, between seventy and eighty-five students attend our summer session.

During the summer session, students have eight periods throughout the day. Their daily schedule features a combination of academic classes, enrichment courses, and swimming. Core classes concentrate on the subjects of reading, writing, and math, with an emphasis placed on the greatest area of need for each individual student. Enrichment courses allow students to explore the arts, world languages, topics in history, science, and math, physical education, and more.  

When registering for the summer session, families indicate the anticipated math course their child will begin in the fall. Registration is also the time to select enrichment courses. Students receive a summer academic advisor, who helps coordinate the student's summer schedule.  

No homework is assigned during the summer session.

The summer dress code requests casual attire. Most students wear polos, t-shirts, and shorts to be comfortable in the summer weather. Families will receive a packing list to help coordinate clothing choices.

Many students will bring their laptops. Laptops are recommended but not required.

Students are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet to classes for academic purposes, but no phones are allowed during the academic day. At lights-out, all students turn in all devices to their dorm parents.
