Student Support and Engagement

At Eagle Hill, student life is more than just what happens in the classroom—it’s about building friendships, discovering passions, and making every moment count, from the start of the school day until lights out. Our student life team creates a warm, welcoming environment where students can explore new interests, develop life skills, and connect with their peers in meaningful ways. Whether they’re diving into sports, expressing themselves through the arts, or collaborating on exciting projects, there’s something for everyone.

We know that sometimes a little redirection is needed, and our trained faculty is always there with personalized support to help students stay on track while feeling empowered and understood. Through enriching after-school experiences, students not only sharpen their academic skills but also grow as leaders, teammates, and friends. With every activity, they build confidence, resilience, and a true sense of belonging in our vibrant school community!

“At Eagle Hill, I learned to manage my time, my work, and my classes.
I learned the value of a community and how there are always people willing to help you.”

Opportunity Awaits

Every student deserves the opportunity to experience all that the academic journey has to offer. The Student Life Department intentionally creates a comfortable environment that both reinforces the lessons taught during the class day and encourages our students to explore their extracurricular and personal interests.

Girls Study Hall

Study Hall

Study hall isn’t just about getting work done—it’s about finding the right space to focus and thrive. We know that every student has different study habits, so we offer flexible options to meet their needs.

For our 8th and 9th graders, study hall takes place in the dining hall, creating a quiet space for productive work. As students move up to 10th and 11th grade, they transition to studying in their dorm rooms, giving them a more personalized and comfortable environment. Seniors and those with independent privilege get the freedom to manage their own study time, helping them build the skills they’ll need for college and beyond.

For those who prefer to get going right after school in a quiet environment, early study hall is available in the Lecture Hall, while IB students have a dedicated space in the STEM building. Early study hall is also available for students who benefit from additional one-on-one support or structured time to complete their work.

By offering a range of study hall options, we ensure that every student has the support they need to develop strong study habits, stay organized, and take responsibility for their academic success.

Pioneer System

The Pioneer System at Eagle Hill School is designed to cultivate independence and responsibility by granting increasing privileges based on academic performance, behavior, and leadership.

Level 1 - all students begin at level 1 with access to designated campus areas, including the Baglio Sports and Fitness Center and PJM STEM Center, from 3:15 p.m. until curfew. They must follow room, homework, and curfew checks and attend house meetings.

Level 2 - is granted upon academic and student life review, allowing students more autonomy, such as closing their dorm room door during study hall and completing homework without checks.

Level 3 - students receive additional privileges, including a later weekend curfew, morning access to the fitness center, and walks to Hardwick Common until dusk.

Students demonstrating strong leadership may apply for Independent Status, gaining extended campus access and assisting with lower campus dorm operations. Proctors, selected through an application and interview process, attend administrative meetings, select CORE award recipients, and act as liaisons between students and staff. CORE members, recognized for their leadership, embody the school’s values and serve as school role models.

This system helps students grow by promoting responsibility and leadership, all while providing a structured foundation for success long after they leave Eagle Hill School.
