Student Life

Feeling like I am “home” means more than a physical space. Home means that things will be consistent or at least predictable. Home means that I have people around me that care how I am doing and will help me when I need it. In short, home is a place where I can be myself.

Eric started his education at Suffolk University in Boston but, in an attempt to gain some life experience and maturity, left school to join the military. Eric spent four years as a crew member on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise as a Machinist Mate, and worked in construction for several years while he went back to school on the GI Bill.

Eric received his B.A. in English and teaching certification from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 1997. That fall he began his teaching career at Eagle Hill as a member of the English department. Since then, he has received his master’s degree in education, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Curriculum and Instruction and Doctorate in education at Cambridge College.

Eric reaffiliated with the Naval Reserves Seabees the same year he started Eagle Hill and completed several deployments overseas in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and New Dawn.  He retired as Chief Petty Officer after twenty-four years of service in 2015.

After serving as Eagle Hill School’s Dean of Education for twenty-four years,  Eric was named assistant head of school for student life in 2024 and oversees various student activities and support programs aimed at enhancing the overall student experience.
