On February 5th, the Eagle Hill Chorale had the opportunity to participate in a High School Workshop and attended the St. Olaf Choir concert at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA.
Ms. Isabella Gentleman, EHS Visual and Performing Arts Teacher, sang with the St. Olaf Choir not too long ago, and was thrilled that Eagle Hill gets to be a part in welcoming them to Worcester.
The students rehearsed “My Lord, What a Morning” under the direction of Dr. Anton Armstrong, listened to a short admissions talk about St. Olaf College and heard from choir members who spoke about the college, and lastly, performed beautifully the piece together for anyone in attendance. Chorale enjoyed preparing for this performance and see the choir in concert.
The six wonderful voices that make up the EHS Chorale are the following:
Kat A., Collette B., Lucas B., Salo J., Katherine M., and Xander S.
The St. Olaf Choir, comprised of 75 mixed voices, is the premier a cappella choir in the United States. For more than a century the choir has set the gold standard for choral singing, performing for millions around the world, and during its 2020 National Winter Tour, it will celebrate two milestones: the 100th anniversary of its first tour to the East Coast, as well as the 30th anniversary of conductor Dr. Anton Armstrong.
