Ms. Karen Goudey

Since joining the Eagle Hill faculty in 2016, Karen Goudey has enjoyed working closely with Eagle Hill students and families, drawing on her past experiences in college admissions to assist them through the college search and application process.

Ms. Goudey shares her love of animals with EHS students by advising the animal shelter activity, bringing Eagle Hill students to a local animal shelter to volunteer. Ms. Goudey has also re-ignited her passion for theater by stage-managing productions for the Gilbert Players of Hardwick (community theater), which take place in the Archipley Cultural Center at Eagle Hill, and volunteering as an usher at the Cultural Center.

Ms. Goudey earned a BA in economics and French studies from Smith College and an MA in intercultural relations from Lesley University. Over the course of her education, she spent three years living, studying, and working abroad. Her passion for international education led her to pursue a career working with international educational exchange programs and then international student admissions. Ms. Goudey spent seventeen years working in college admission—first at Emerson College and then at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she led the university’s international admissions efforts.

With her husband Kurt, she helped to raise his two children to adulthood, experiencing first hand their struggles with ADHD, executive dysfunction, and school-related anxiety. They have also served as a host family for several international high school students through the AFS program.
