Mrs. Mary Ann Welsch

Reading Teacher

Prior to becoming a classroom teacher in 2000, Mary Ann Welsch worked for twenty years as a museum educator at Old Sturbridge Village, where she honed her interests in history, agriculture, gardening, and teaching. As a life long reader, she is interested in sharing her love for words with students and helping them develop as readers. She has worked both in public schools and private schools as a Title 1 tutor and classroom teacher. Mrs. Welsch holds a master’s degree in education from Anna Maria College.

Mrs. Welsch is certified in Wilson Language and Orton-Gillingham and is a member of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practioners and Educators, as well as the International Dyslexic Association. A longtime resident of Hardwick, Mrs. Welsch enjoys spending time with family, working in her garden, reading and sharing with her book club, attending special events at the Cultural Center at Eagle Hill, hiking the many trails in the Quabbin area, and enjoying this special corner of the world.
