Ms. Marilyn Waller

Chair of the Board

Attorney
Committees: All Committees

Currently, Marilyn Waller is of Counsel with the law firm of Weinberg and Wilder in San Francisco, California. She was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area as the oldest of ten children.

Ms. Waller received her BA degree from San Francisco State University and then a JD from Hastings College of the Law. Immediately after admission to the California bar, Ms. Waller and two Hastings colleagues formed the Bernal Heights Law Collective, where they served the community in which they lived. Eventually, she opened her own law office where for almost fifteen years she continued the practice of criminal defense with a special focus on defending juveniles accused of crimes.

She and her husband, Doron Weinberg (also an attorney), moved from San Francisco to the East Bay community of Piedmont in the early 1990s. Ms. Waller’s focus shifted from practicing law to raising three young children—including her son, Joshua, who graduated from Eagle Hill in June 2007, and son, Gabe, who graduated in 2010.

Ms. Waller is a member of the National Lawyers Guild (a progressive legal organization); she has served as chapter president, executive committee and board member, and chair of the finance committee, and remains the primary fundraiser for the Bay Area Chapter. Also, she is a member of the board of directors for the Ann Martin Center—a unique nonprofit agency that provides professional psychotherapy and educational therapy to hundreds of children and adolescents primarily in the Oakland-Piedmont area.

Ms. Waller has been an adjunct professor at New College Law School and JFK Law School as well as at San Francisco State University. She has also lectured throughout the Bay Area.

Ms. Waller has been a member of the EHS Parent Advisory Board since 2004. Additionally, she has served as the unofficial ambassador for EHS in her home state of California, as well as throughout the United States and abroad.

Ms. Waller and Mr. Weinberg continue to reside in Piedmont. They have three children, Joshua (EHS ’07), Gabe (EHS ’10), and Lea.
