STAR (Students, Teachers, Artists-in-Residence) Collaboration welcomes Janelle Bighinatti!
Photojournalist Janelle Bighonatti tells visual stories using vintage cameras and creative ingenuity.
Our third and final STAR Artist of the year, Janelle Bighinatti, has arrived on our campus! Janelle comes to us from the Skagit Valley, north of Seattle, Washington. A legal assistant by day, she is a photographer, writer, jeweler, painter, and all-around creative. She focuses primarily on photojournalism and photo essays, and through her work, she tells stories that highlight creative ingenuity, unique communities and places, history brought to life, and the interconnectedness of the world throughout time and space.
Janelle is incredibly interested in bringing history to life. While in residence as a STAR Artist, Janelle plans to visit and photograph some of the numerous living history museums in the area, and to explore shooting photography on antique cameras that she has picked up on her travels. In addition, she is greatly looking forward to connecting with our students and faculty in a wide range of disciplines.
Janelle will be living and working in the Eagle Hill School community through the end of June, and we are so lucky to have her here! During her residency at EHS, she will be working with our visual arts classes, collaborating across disciplines, and pursuing her own artistic goals.
