Mr. Dana Harbert
Admission Associate
Dana Harbert, our longest-serving faculty member at Eagle Hill School, has held multiple roles, including teacher, administrator, Director of Admission, academic advisor, and Reading Department Chair. He currently teaches reading and co-chairs the Reading Department while also contributing his expertise to the admission team. In addition to teaching and admission duties, he serves as an academic advisor.
He began his career at EHS in 1984 as a teacher of reading and writing. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut in 1978 and a master of education as a consulting teacher of reading from Westfield State College in 1991. Mr. Harbert served as the chair of the EHS reading department and the assistant director of education for many years. Most recently, Dana Harbert served as the director of admission from 2004 to 2024.
Dana is a Fellow of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, an honor that affords him the opportunity to train and supervise teachers in the Orton-Gillingham approach. His over forty years of experience at Eagle Hill School, combined with his expertise in the area of reading, make Mr. Harbert uniquely qualified to serve in this most important administrative role.
