Mr. Dana Harbert

Reading Teacher

After more than twenty years as the director of admission, Dana Harbert has shifted his focus to teaching reading. His journey at Eagle Hill School began in 1984 as a teacher of reading and writing. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut in 1978 and a Master of Education in consulting teaching of reading from Westfield State College in 1991. Before becoming Director of Admission in 2004, Mr. Harbert also chaired the EHS reading department and served as assistant director of education for several years.

Dana is a Fellow in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, an honor that affords him the opportunity to train and supervise teachers in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Additionally, he serves as an academic advisor.
