Celebrating Families at Eagle Hill

The Eagle Hill School community came together for another exciting Spring Family Weekend.

From May 7–10, Eagle Hill School welcomed families and friends to campus for this cherished tradition held each fall and spring. Family weekend offered an opportunity to celebrate the Eagle Hill community while reconnecting with family and friends from near and far.

Spring Family Weekend began on Thursday with the Arts on the Hill Reception in the Cultural Center, featuring performances by the Eagle Hill School Jam Band, who shared pieces they have been developing in class. Festivities continued on Friday as families arrived for a full schedule of activities, including Mini-School, a Let’s Celebrate Earth Day station, Faculty and Staff Card-Making, College Roadmap presentations, a Families of Color Reception, and a Summer Session information session. Following these events was a spirited tailgate at Pioneer Field, followed by a delayed Ultimate Frisbee matchup against Amherst, in which the Pioneers earned a victory.

Later that evening, families gathered at Jordan Field for refreshments before attending Eagle Hill Theatre’s hilarious production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The performance was directed by Will Gelinas and brought to life by an enthusiastic cast, including Griffin K. ’26, Jacob W. ’26, Rebecca S. ’26, Hope L. ’27, Brandon B. ’28, Skyla P. ’28, Eva G. ’28, and Lyla G. ’30. Special recognition also goes to the tech crew—Sam R. ’26, Phoebe R. ’26, Diego B. ’26, and Chase H. ’28—for their behind-the-scenes work. The interactive and comedic production delighted audiences throughout the weekend, with spontaneous participation from faculty, families, and members of the Eagle Hill community.

On Saturday, May 9, athletics took center stage. The Eagle Hill Rowing Team competed against Lenox and Marianapolis at the West Brookfield Town Beach on Lake Wickaboag, enjoying a regatta and cookout despite the weather. Back on campus, rainy conditions did not slow down competition, as Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse faced Dublin. The Boys’ team secured a win, while the Girls’ team competed strongly throughout a very close game. Spectators remained engaged through the conditions while enjoying a tailgate lunch at Jordan Field.

The weekend concluded on Sunday with a community brunch in honor of Mother’s Day, celebrating the mothers and mother figures within the Eagle Hill community.

Spring Family Weekend once again reflected the strength of the Eagle Hill community, bringing together students, families, faculty, and staff in a shared celebration of Pioneer spirit.
