Off they go!

Eagle Hill seniors embark on their exciting journey ahead.

The Class of 2023 said their final goodbyes to Eagle Hill School this past weekend and have now turned their attention to their next great adventure: college.

The Class of 2023 is one of the largest classes to have ever graduated from EHS, and they will be attending some of the best and most prestigious colleges and universities throughout the United States next Fall.

Our College Counseling department works tirelessly to ensure that each student applies and is accepted into the school that is the best fit for them as an individual. They also support students and families considering whether a gap year or alternative path would be the best course. To do this, our college counselors teach a three-term course required for all juniors. This course helps prepare juniors to navigate next steps, including the college search and application process.

Next Fall, our recent EHS graduates will attend schools from Western Colorado University to the College of Charleston, Georgetown, and Northeastern University, to name a few. Mr. Geary, director of our College Counseling department, explained that our college application process is very hands-on and individualized for our students. Mr. Geary explained, “We tell our juniors and seniors to keep an open mind when applying to schools, and they are encouraged to seek out programs as unique as they are.”

At Eagle Hill, we have seen an influx of students looking to pursue degrees in STEM since the opening of the PJM Stem Center in the Fall of 2019, which includes our new makerspace along with the biology/zoology labs. Mr. Geary mentioned that more students are applying to colleges that offer marine and earth sciences, fabrication and engineering, and computer and technology degrees. We are also seeing a crossover from the makerspace metalwork and traditional woodshop classes with students who are following their passions in the arts, all thanks to our incredible faculty that exposes our students to so many diverse courses.

The most important advice Mr. Geary gives his students is “to always be authentically you and to find a school that appreciates the best version of yourself.” In addition, he encourages students to use their learning diversity as a superpower, setting them apart from other applicants.

We are so proud of every member of the graduating class of 2023 and wish them luck on their new journey. They will always have a home at Eagle Hill School, and we will be cheering them on every step of the way.

Our graduates will be attending the following colleges and universities in the Fall of 2023:
