Clubs and Activities Galore

Every day after-school is full of opportunities to explore and try out new clubs and activities. There is something for everyone!

September is finally here, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome all our fabulous students and parents back to campus! In preparation for their arrival, over the summer months, the Student Life team and the faculty have been hard at work preparing curriculum and creating clubs, community events, and extracurricular activities that will be sure to fascinate and engage the entire student body. For many of us, Eagle Hill is our home away from home, evidenced by the packed cars and sheer volume of bags entering the dorms! As such, we strive to create an environment for our students to thrive and grow.

Mr. Shane Francoeur, Dean of Campus Engagement, for example, has been hard at work putting together some remarkable programming for the fall semester. He helped facilitate opportunities for students to join Girls Leadership with Miss Gentleman and Miss Riendeau, to try their hand at slam poetry with Dr. Kim, or to join classmates for a board game night. If that isn’t of interest, there are openings to join classmates at the local animal shelter with Dr. McCaffrey, and so much more.

Our Dean of Equity, Inclusion, and Leadership, Dr. Sabrina Perez, has come to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience from the West Coast. Dr. Perez organized a club fair on Tuesday night to showcase the extraordinary amount of programming and clubs we offer. Students at the fair had the opportunity to meet club heads and moderators and sign up for the ones that interested them. Students are sure to find something that sparks their interests and keeps them active. Students with an affinity for knitting, chess, or maybe history, rest assured.... there’s a club for that! For students missing their furry friends back home, we have a puppy club and offer dog walking services for faculty and staff who have their own pups living on campus.

The planning and creativity don’t stop when the weekend comes! In fact, the weekends are a particularly exciting time to be on the grounds of Eagle Hill. Mr. Warlick and Ms. Quigley have organized some sensational programming on and off campus. For those students who would like to stay closer to “home,” we host movie nights and games on the Quad. In the WHIKS Student Union, we live stream football games, so there is no missing out on cheering for the favorite team. We also have several activities taking place around Massachusetts, including opportunities to go shopping at Patriots Place or deep sea fishing out of Newburyport. No matter their interests, our students are sure to find something to captivate them.
There is no shortage of programming to allow students to go out there and try something new and perhaps join a club or activity with their roommate or friend that they would otherwise never have had the chance to explore. Who knows, maybe they’ll discover that they’re an expert chess player or the next Georgia O’Keeffe! With endless possibilities and resources at their disposal, there is nothing to lose by trying something new and different and so much to gain!
