Eagle Hill School

A Tradition of Wellness and Connection

Eagle Hill celebrated the 6th annual Purple Week with a schoolwide focus on reflection, connection, and balance.

Eagle Hill School came together for Purple Week, a meaningful tradition that highlights the school’s commitment to our wellness. At a time when stress and anxiety are increasingly present in daily life, Purple Week offers space for reflection, connection, and balance. From March 9-13, 2026, students and faculty embraced opportunities to slow down, support one another, and prioritize well-being.

Jessica Geary, English teacher and coordinator of Purple Week, guides the planning and vision behind this tradition. She reflects on its importance to the Eagle Hill School community: “Whether on a personal, community, or world level, anxiety and stress can impact the experiences we have each day. The goal of Purple Week is to create a space for all members of the Eagle Hill community to acknowledge the ways that they can have agency in their own wellness. The objective is to encourage each person to reflect on what makes them happy, what makes them feel fulfilled, and to make more time for those things.”

As a part of Purple Week, students and faculty made personal pledges centered on wellness and self-care. Monday’s activities set the tone, featuring rock climbing and yoga, along with a special treat of homemade cookies baked by pastry chef Tabitha. Monday evening’s guest speaker Major Wright helped kick off the week with an encouraging message, inspiring students to approach the days ahead with intention and positivity.

Purple Week at Eagle Hill is more than a series of events—it embodies the spirit of a community where students feel seen, supported, and connected.

On Tuesday, the community gathered for an afternoon of meditation with Social Emotional Wellbeing teacher Mrs. Whitaker and open swim, offering time to unwind and recharge. Wednesday brought high energy and school spirit with the much-anticipated staff versus students basketball game, where memorable moments on the court had everyone cheering. The evening continued with game night in the Whiks, where students bonded through friendly competition and laughter, and an enthusiastic round of karaoke.

On Thursday students were invited to explore their creativity in the PJM STEM Center Makerspace with Mr. Coutu, engaging in hands-on projects using resin and wood that encouraged focus and self-expression. The day concluded with a relaxed and enjoyable paint-and-sip session led by English teacher Ms. Bonica, providing another opportunity for the community to come together in a supportive and creative environment. The week concluded on Friday with an off-campus walk to Mimi’s Coffeehouse of Hardwick, where students and faculty enjoyed a well-earned treat.
