A Bittersweet Week of Celebration

The class of 2025 reflect on their final days.

As the school year winds down, the air is thick with joy, nostalgia, and a touch of sadness. This week, the Class of 2025 embarks on a series of traditions and celebrations that mark the end of their Eagle Hill journey—events seniors have looked forward to for years.

On Tuesday, the week started with the Year-End Celebration in the Abby Theatre. This event celebrated the students' accomplishments and honored their unique personalities, talents, and contributions. Department heads handed out academic awards to students with serious and humorous honors. Athletic awards and a moving slide show highlighted a terrific year on the field, on the court, and in the pool.

Immediately following the awards, seniors transitioned into graduation practice, causing many to reflect on the fact that these celebratory moments are indeed leading to goodbye.

"This week has been bittersweet — I'm sad to be closing my chapter at Eagle Hill, but grateful and excited for the new beginning ahead," said Emma B., '25.

The community came together for the "Senior Memories" Dinner on Tuesday evening. With formal attire, the seniors, faculty, and staff gathered to honor the relationships and memories built over the years.

On Thursday, another graduation practice kept the preparations moving forward, followed by a cherished tradition: Senior Illumination. As the sun set on Pioneer Field, students and faculty shared a final evening of music, a bonfire, and dinner under the stars—a symbolic celebration of the light that each senior carries forward.

Friday brings the Baccalaureate Dinner and Awards Ceremony, a formal occasion to recognize achievements and gather once more before the final goodbye. "I'm looking forward to Baccalaureate—the awards and the words of my advisor will make me feel seen, not just for my grades, but for the hard work I've put in while at Eagle Hill," said Izzy T. '25.

And then, on Saturday, comes the moment they've all been waiting for: commencement. Seniors will ring the bell at the back of the Main House, then walk through a path lined with a faculty- a beloved ritual that marks their passage into the world beyond. Beneath the tent on the quad in front of Harmsworth Hall, they will line up individually to receive their diplomas and officially become Eagle Hill alumni/ae.
