Ms. Katherine Yang

Native New Yorker Katherine Yang was born and raised on Staten Island, where she proudly embraced her Taiwanese heritage while staying connected to the diverse NYC community around her. She earned her BS in mechanical engineering from Columbia University and began her career in management consulting before returning to Columbia University for her MBA.

Katherine went on to build a successful career at American Express, holding several roles across the company, including Chief of Staff for senior executives. She and her college sweetheart, Raymond Chan, eventually settled on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where they raise their three children—Emma, Jack, and Lauren.

After retiring from corporate life, Katherine became an active presence in school communities, serving in multiple PA leadership roles. She recently completed her term as Treasurer for her family’s weekend house community, The Trail Club, and is a committed supporter of Apex for Youth, a mentorship program serving underprivileged Asian American youth in New York City.

Katherine is now excited to begin her next chapter as an engaged board member of Eagle Hill School, helping to champion EHS’s powerful approach to individualized learning and supporting the next generation of students in discovering their potential.
