Mr. John Gee

John Gee is Managing Director of Merrill Lynch (now Bank of America), where he has held various senior management responsibilities for over thirty years. Prior to that time, Mr. Gee was CEO and board member of Community Bankshares of Virginia.

Additionally, Mr. Gee’s passion is in his involvement with executive management consulting as well as executive coaching as a principal in 49Octave. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, and graduate degrees from the University of Virginia in finance and the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton from their Executive Leadership School. He has spoken at numerous national venues on the subjects of leadership, commitment, and community.

Mr. Gee is a past co-chair of the EHS Parent Advisory Board, is a board member of Peninsula Community Properties in Delaware, and Virginia Farm Properties in Virginia. Previously, Mr. Gee has held board positions with the United States Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Board of Shakespeare Sedona, Phoenix Art Museum, Tucson Symphony, and Arizona Theatre Company. Mr. Gee has been named one of five outstanding executives in the United States and the Outstanding Young Man in Virginia on three separate occasions. Additionally, he has chaired various national and state-wide election campaigns over the last thirty-eight years, working with both major political parties.

Mr. Gee and his wife, Susan, have three sons, Scott, Mark, and Matt (EHS ’11).
