A Message from the Head of School

Welcome!

I am so happy that you are here, exploring all that Eagle Hill School has to offer. For more than fifty years, Eagle Hill has steadfastly challenged and redefined the conventional wisdom regarding the education of students with diverse learning abilities. Today, the genius of the Eagle Hill philosophy remains its simplicity, grounded in the beliefs that our students are endowed with diverse and remarkable capacities for learning and that it is our responsibility as educators to identify, nurture, and celebrate those capacities as our students pursue their dreams.

At Eagle Hill School, we value the extraordinary diversity of our students’ young minds, which forms the basis for the ongoing development of a student’s course of study. This means that instead of merely providing support within a traditional classroom setting, Eagle Hill designs instruction around each student’s particular needs, talents, and passions. By emphasizing individualized attention within the context of a small classroom environment, Eagle Hill provides for the academic, social, and personal growth of each student. 

As head of school, I have the enviable good fortune of being charged with building upon the solid foundation put in place by my predecessors. We have a strong reputation within the educational community for both our unique approach and our innovative teaching practices. Our students’ opportunities to dream and to achieve are limitless, both inside and beyond the classroom. We enjoy a campus rivaling those of most small colleges, but for me, what is most notable is our faculty—a community of talented, dedicated, and passionate professionals whose work with our students is extraordinary.

Of course, the greatness of any school is best measured by the success of its alumni/ae. Graduates of Eagle Hill School emerge from their classrooms, dormitories, and athletic fields as academically accomplished, intellectually curious, and socially engaged young adults. They matriculate to a broad range of competitive colleges, and they experience success in college at a rate that far exceeds the national average. Most importantly, they enter the wider world as confident, competent, and principled men and women who carry forward our core values of honesty, respect, kindness, and purpose. 

Please accept my warmest welcome to the Eagle Hill School community. We have designed this website to try to capture the essence and spirit of our school.
